The following poem was written by a student from Oakmead College of Technology, Bournemouth. Students from the school visited Second World War related sites in Normandy in May 2004 as part of the TPYF Commemorative Visits Programme. The group visited museums, memorials and historic sites, and met with veterans, as they participated in arrangements for the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.
