Sample Itineraries

The Their Past Your Future Commemorative Visits Programme has taken UK school pupils and youth group members to a wide variety of destinations in Europe and beyond to learn about the events and impact of the Second World War.

Our trips have featured visits to historical sites, battlefields, war cemeteries and memorials, museums, and towns and cities particularly affected by the events of the conflict, as well as official 60th anniversary commemorative events. We have turned these itineraries into more generic guidelines for historical visits to Second World War destinations. Click on a destination from the list below to download a sample itinerary to help you plan your own excursion outside the classroom, however far afield.
